The Standing Committee did not reach, or seek, consensus with regard to disciplinary actions. Six of the voting members recommended dismissal from the University. Three members recommended suspension without pay; two of these recommended suspension for five years and one recommended suspension for two years.
That a solid majority recommend dismissal, and no one on the committee recommended exoneration, is a small but important step to restoring the academic credibility of American universities.
Churchill is typically defiant. That he persists in citing a paranoid fantasy as the reason for this investigation only justifies the committee's recommendation.
