The Miami Jihadis Aren't The Jihadis We Should Fear

While everybody discusses the seven hapless souls arrested in Miami yesterday, and the media's trepidation at reporting either the race or the religion of the suspects (African-American and Muslim-ish, for those keeping score), organized and effective groups are spreading Islamic fascism in American mosques.

Michael Ledeen reminds us that a close associate of the ringleader of the 7/7 attacks in London attended the Masjid Fatima Islamic Centre in Queens to recruit for jihadi training camps in Pakistan. He further reminds that the use of mosques to spread violent jihad has been well documented by organizations such as Freedom House, that a great many of these mosques are Sauidi-sponsored Wahabbi mosques, and that much poison has been allowed to spread because we are a generous, freedom-loving people disinclined to violate the religious rights of others.

We should rightly celebrate the arrest of the Miami jihadis, and breathe a sigh of relief at their incompetence, but we should not consider the gathering of some low-hanging fruit to be the equivalent of a full harvest. We have every reason to suspect there is worse happening right now than the Miami bumbling.
