Gutierrez For Mayor Of Hell Freezing Over

Perhaps I am judging too quickly, but I don't think that Rep. Luis Gutierrez really knows how unlikely his career plans really are.

According to a 2003 Census Bureau report, summarized at the City of Chicago website, Hispanics account for about 27% of the population. By comparison, blacks are about 36% and whites about 46%. Given a demographic disadvantage and the entrenched Daley machine, I doubt Rep. Gutierrez has a good chance of winning.
