Those Brawling, Losing Cubs

The crosstown series is taking place this weekend in Chicago, and the Cubs, despite two wins against the Nationals last week, are proving themselves the weaker team. The White Sox, who deserve the most attention from Chicago fans but still seem to receive less than the Cubs, won the first two games of the series 6-1 and 7-0.

Today, Cubs catcher Michael Barrett threw a punch at White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski after a rough play at home plate. Barrett is claiming that he saw Pierzynski turn back towards home plate after the play was over and simply responded as though this was a threat; Pierzynski claims he merely turned back to the plate to pick up his batting helmet. Not sure who to believe, but the consensus seems to be that Barrett, being a bit of a hothead, overreacted.

I'm posting this for the picture alone. No doubt it will bring true pleasure to the hearts of Angel fans, given the events of last fall.
